Aosta approves updated designs for new municipal ice rink

The Second Council Commission has approved updates to the executive project for a new municipal ice rink in Aosta, located on Corso Lancieri di Aosta. The modifications focus on improving the building's architectural integration, specifically regarding the external facades, the overall footprint, and the surrounding area, which will include a surface parking lot following the demolition of the current facility.

The dimensions for the hockey, figure skating, and curling rinks remain unchanged. The project has received favorable opinions from the Aosta Fire Brigade, the Italian Ice Sports Federation, and CONI. The construction will be managed through a twenty-year public-private partnership involving financial leasing, covering design, financing, construction, maintenance, and management.

Corrado Cometto, the Councilor for Public Works, stated that the updates improve the quality of internal spaces and the building's architectural fit, describing the new facility as a modern, multifunctional hub for sport and the community.
