Aosta authorities intensify monitoring of extreme poverty
The Aosta Region and the Municipality of Aosta have strengthened their coordinated efforts to address extreme poverty and support homeless individuals. This joint initiative focuses on continuous monitoring, territorial presence, and integrated support through a network of social and health services.
A central component of this strategy is the Centro Servizi – Stazione di Posta, which serves as a primary access point for those in severe marginality. The center provides immediate assistance for primary needs, overnight shelter, healthcare, and guidance toward local services. It also assists individuals in obtaining fictitious residency, which is essential for accessing specific rights and services.
The intervention involves collaboration between regional and municipal administrations, social services, and third-sector organizations, including the Fondazione Opere Caritas. While authorities noted that the situation remains contained and no immediate security crises have emerged, the goal is to intercept hidden cases of vulnerability and guide individuals toward greater autonomy and housing solutions.
