Aosta plans new headquarters for University of the Third Age

The University of the Third Age (Unitre) in Aosta will consolidate its operations into a single headquarters located in the former Magistrali canteen on Viale Garibaldi. According to a feasibility document currently awaiting approval by the regional government, the project aims to eliminate the need for the university to split its courses across multiple buildings.

The initiative includes a €3 million investment sourced from the 2026 budget adjustment. The plan involves a dual approach: repurposing the premises for the university and performing comprehensive building upgrades, including energy efficiency improvements, seismic structural reinforcement, and the installation of ventilated facades.

The new facility will feature a 120-seat main hall, three multifunctional classrooms for teaching and laboratory work, a reception area, and administrative offices. The project also includes soundproofing to ensure separation from the two existing gymnasiums housed within the building.
