Aosta Valley Council approves 2026-2028 budget variation

The Aosta Valley Regional Council has approved the third variation to the 2026-2028 budget forecast. The bill, consisting of 41 articles, passed with 20 votes in favor from the majority, while 15 opposition members abstained.

The measure includes 50 million euros in increased revenue to be distributed across various sectors. Key provisions include the confirmation of 5 million euros to support farmers facing difficulties caused by summer droughts, which impacted livestock production and reduced hay yields by 30 to 40 percent.

Additionally, the Council approved an order of the day requesting the regional government to engage with the national government regarding a potential motor vehicle tax exemption for vehicles up to 80 kilowatts, aiming for implementation by January 1, 2027. The Council also established criteria for financing studies and feasibility documents for local authorities.
