Aotearoa announces upcoming art fair and music festival

New cultural events are scheduled for Aotearoa, including the Aotearoa Art Fair 2026 and the Kingston Calling music festival.

The Aotearoa Art Fair will take place during the first weekend of May at the Viaduct precinct. Highlights include the return of Gallery Sally Dan-Cuthbert presenting Lisa Reihana’s work, including the kinetic sculpture ‘ANZAC’. Participating galleries such as Fresh Gallery Ōtara and Gow Langsford (now Lett Thomas) will showcase a mix of established and emerging artists.

In February 2027, the Kingston Calling festival will be held at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The two-day event features a lineup including Six60, Stan Walker, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Maoli, and Soja. The festival is presented by Fabrik and Mai FM and is supported by the New Zealand Government’s Events Attraction Package.
