Aoyama Gakuin University runners hold intensive summer training camp

Aoyama Gakuin University's long-distance running team is conducting a three-week summer training camp at the Sugadaira Plateau in Nagano as they prepare for the 103rd Hakone Ekiden. The team aims to secure its tenth victory in the prestigious relay race.

During the camp's uphill time trials, senior Kenta Torii recorded the fastest time, significantly narrowing the gap with Asahi Kuroda, who previously set a course record. Team captain Kaito Nakamura also reported achieving personal best times during the training sessions. Coach Susumu Hara has emphasized the importance of the fourth-year students leading the team during this period.
