AP-7 highway accidents in Castellón province trigger multi‑kilometer traffic jams
Two separate collisions on the AP-7 in Spain’s Castellón province have caused major traffic disruptions. An early‑morning rear‑end crash at kilometre 459 near Xilxes (direction Valencia) led to three kilometres of congestion, with authorities reporting no confirmed injuries and urging drivers to use alternative routes.
Later, a serious crash at kilometre 422 near Benicàssim (direction Tarragona) involved a motorhome that stopped after a tyre puncture and was struck by a truck. The impact split the motorhome in half, killing a 13‑year‑old girl and injuring a 48‑year‑old woman and a 15‑year‑old girl, who were taken to the General Hospital of Castellón. The truck driver was unharmed. The incident forced the closure of the right‑hand lane and produced up to four kilometres of delays during a peak summer travel day.
