AP JAC Amaravati defers agitation following government assurances

The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (AP JAC) Amaravati has decided to temporarily defer its planned agitation following assurances from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu regarding several long-standing demands of government employees and pensioners.

The committee welcomed several government decisions, including the appointment of a Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner, the release of two Dearness Allowance (DA) installments, the restoration of additional pensions, and the sanctioning of surrender leave for employees and police personnel. The facilitation of Employee Health Cards was also noted as a positive step.

Despite these concessions, some representatives expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of an announcement regarding Interim Relief (IR) and the absence of a clear roadmap for paying pending arrears. AP JAC Amaravati Chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu previously noted that while the government claims to be clearing dues, significant accumulated arrears remain. The committee has opted to wait for a specified period to see if the government implements its recent assurances before resuming protests.
