Sport defeats Juventude 2-1 in Série B comeback victory

Sport secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Juventude at the Ilha do Retiro during the 29th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. Juventude initially took the lead in the first half through a penalty converted by Mandaca, following a foul on Alisson Safira. Sport equalized late in the first half with a goal from Chrystian Barletta.

In the second half, a Juventude goal by Fábio Lima was disallowed due to offside. Sport eventually secured the win in the 40th minute of the second half when defender Marcelo Ajul scored after a cross from Augusto Pucci, redeeming himself for an earlier error that led to Juventude’s penalty.

With this result, Sport moves to 44 points, climbing to ninth place and strengthening its pursuit of the G-6 promotion zone. Juventude remains at 50 points, dropping to third place in the standings.
