Fátima Gavioli appointed Education Secretary of Paraná

Sergio Moro, the governor-elect of Paraná, has announced that Professor Aparecida de Fátima Gavioli will serve as the State Secretary of Education starting in January 2027. Gavioli, a native of Goioerê, Paraná, will succeed Roni Miranda, who is departing to serve as the Education Secretary for Rio Grande do Sul.

Gavioli brings extensive administrative experience, having previously led the state education departments in Rondônia (2014–2016) and Goiás (2019–2026). During her tenure in Goiás, the state's high school Ideb score rose from 3.9 in 2017 to 5.0 in 2025. She holds degrees in Letters, Law, and Pedagogy, and a doctorate in Educational Psychology.

Before moving to the Paraná administration, Gavioli briefly returned to her role as Secretary of Education in Goiás under Governor Daniel Vilela following the 2026 elections.
