Aparecida de Goiânia expands public lighting and paving infrastructure
Mayor Leandro Vilela has authorized 11 new public lighting projects in Aparecida de Goiânia to expand the city's infrastructure. The initiative aims to modernize 100% of the city's public lighting using high-efficiency LED lamps. This modernization effort, which began in 2025 through a public-private partnership, has already updated over 64,000 lighting points in less than six months.
In addition to lighting upgrades, the municipal administration is conducting extensive paving and resurfacing works across various sectors, including Santa Luzia, Parque São Jorge, and Jardim Olímpico. The city plans to revitalize asphalt in 167 neighborhoods this year, covering more than 350 kilometers. Some areas, such as Buriti Sereno, are receiving new asphalt through a R$ 100 million investment in partnership with the Government of Goiás. These infrastructure improvements are being prioritized during the dry season to prepare for the upcoming rainy period.
