Aparecida de Goiânia officials recover stolen health department equipment

The Municipal Civil Guard and the Military Police of Goiás recovered four air conditioning units stolen from a health department warehouse in Aparecida de Goiânia. The theft involved approximately 16 units, which were reportedly taken using a municipal vehicle.

Two municipal employees, serving as Assessor IV in the Health Secretariat, were identified as suspects. One suspect admitted to the theft of roughly 16 units, which were being sold for R$ 1,300 each. Following the investigation, Mayor Leandro Vilela ordered the immediate dismissal of both employees.

Authorities located two of the recovered units in a residence in Jardim Rio Grande and two others in a second property in the same neighborhood. Investigators also identified a merchant in Goiânia who had allegedly received units for resale via the OLX platform.
