Aparecida de Goiânia reports business growth amid pension deficit

Aparecida de Goiânia has surpassed 124,500 active companies, marking a 14% increase compared to 2024. According to the Municipal Finance Secretariat, approximately 16,000 new businesses have been incorporated into the local economy during the current administration. This growth is attributed to measures such as the expansion of the 'Aparecida Digital' platform, which offers over 220 online services to reduce bureaucracy.

Simultaneously, the municipality is facing a significant pension deficit. An actuarial assessment for 2025 by AparecidaPrev identified a deficit of approximately R$ 2.12 billion that must be amortized to cover future retirement and pension obligations. To address this, the City Council approved a project to increase the employer contribution rate from 16.5% to 40.96%, effective in 2028.
