Aparecida de Goiânia supermarket employee suspected of R$ 500,000 embezzlement

A 22-year-old female employee is under investigation by the Civil Police of Goiás for allegedly embezzling between R$ 500,000 and R$ 1 million from a supermarket in Aparecida de Goiânia. The suspect, who had worked at the establishment for over three years, was caught on security footage removing cash during register closures without reporting it.

Investigators noted that the suspect's lifestyle was inconsistent with her monthly salary of approximately R$ 3,000. Alleged expenditures include the purchase of a new car for her boyfriend, a new house via an equity agreement, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a R$ 5,000 tattoo. Police also noted frequent cash deposits of R$ 1,000 to R$ 2,000 into her bank account.

The owner of the supermarket reportedly noticed a 20% increase in cash discrepancies after installing an electronic safe. Although the suspect was arrested in flagrante, she was released following a custody hearing. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities requesting a breach of bank secrecy to further verify the origin of the funds.
