Aparicio Saravia honored by Partido Nacional leaders

Members and leaders of the Partido Nacional held a ceremony to commemorate the 122nd anniversary of the death of Aparicio Saravia. The tribute, led by Mario García and Adriana Peña, took place at a monument marking the historical figure's legacy.

During the event, García emphasized Saravia's principles of liberty, transparency, and equality, while also criticizing current administrations for failing to meet national and departmental challenges.

In a separate legislative move, Deputy Adriana Peña has introduced a bill in Parliament to issue a commemorative coin. The proposal aims to recognize Saravia's role in shaping Uruguayan national identity, highlighting his historical struggle against electoral fraud and his origins in the rural interior.
