Apax to acquire Warburg Pincus stake in Odido
Apax Partners has agreed to acquire the shareholding of Warburg Pincus in Odido Netherlands Holding, making Apax the sole owner of the Dutch telecommunications company. While the companies have not disclosed the exact financial terms, reports from the Financial Times suggest the deal could value Odido at approximately 6.5 billion euros.
Odido, which operates brands such as Ben and Simpel, was previously co-owned by Apax and Warburg Pincus following their 2021 acquisition of T-Mobile Netherlands from Deutsche Telekom and Tele2. Since then, the company has undergone a rebranding to Odido and expanded its fiber footprint.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and consultation with employee representatives. Apax intends to continue investing in Odido’s network, security, and digital inclusion initiatives to meet growing demand for data and AI-driven connectivity.
