APC-affiliated groups expand youth and women mobilization in Nigeria

The Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) is expanding its grassroots presence in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections. The movement recently inaugurated a students’ wing and integrated the ‘No Women, No Nation’ forum into its structure. YPM Convener Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde stated that the organization now claims approximately 55,000 members in Ogun and will focus on mobilizing young people and students to support Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.

On a national level, the APC National Youth Wing has reaffirmed its commitment to increasing youth participation in governance and economic development. National Youth Leader Dayo Israel emphasized that young Nigerians should be treated as active partners in shaping the country rather than just future leaders. He noted that recent voter registration data shows significant civic interest, with nearly 2.8 million Nigerians aged 18 to 34 registered to vote in recent updates.
