APC campaign activities in Northern Nigeria draw mixed reactions

The All Progressives Congress (APC) recently held a presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna State, an event praised by Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, Convener of the Arewa Think Tank. Yakubu commended Governor Uba Sani and APC Presidential Campaign Director-General Abdulaziz Yari for their roles in the gathering, stating the turnout demonstrated strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election aspirations.

In a separate engagement within the Katsina Emirate, the Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, addressed the Presidential Campaign Council. Following the viral release of an audio recording of the visit, the monarch’s remarks have drawn varied responses. While some view his bluntness as patriotic leadership, others argue he exceeded the traditional boundaries of his office.

During the meeting with a delegation led by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and Senator Yari, the Emir urged political leaders to prioritize citizen welfare and peaceful coexistence over personal ambition or political hostility. He emphasized that leaders would be held accountable for their responsibilities to the people.
