APC Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda receives award and apologizes to party members

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda has received the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Politician of the Year Award. The recognition, part of the newspaper’s 100th anniversary, honors his leadership and contributions to national development. The award is scheduled to be presented at the Times Heroes Awards in Abuja on September 3, 2026, and Yilwatda will be featured in a commemorative Nigerian Grand Book.

Separately, Prof. Yilwatda issued a public apology on behalf of the APC National Working Committee to members aggrieved by the party’s internal primary processes. Speaking during the launch of the APC Campaign Office in Ibadan, he addressed perceived wrongs that occurred during the selection of candidates for the 2027 general elections.

Yilwatda urged party members across all states to view these issues as internal family matters and called for unity ahead of the upcoming elections. He emphasized that the national leadership takes responsibility for any mistakes made by committees representing the party at the state level.
