APC faces conflicting predictions for 2027 Nigerian elections
Political figures and religious leaders have offered conflicting outlooks regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC) performance in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
Wasiu Ismail, Chairman of the APC in the Eredo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, expressed confidence that the party will secure victories in all elective positions, including the presidency, Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly. Ismail stated that the party has mapped out strategies involving aggressive publicity, door-to-door campaigning, and member mobilization. He also urged party members to participate in registration exercises and obtain Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
In contrast, Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, predicted a difficult battle for the APC. Ayodele suggested the party would face significant opposition in traditional strongholds such as Lagos and Osun states. He claimed that residents in Lagos are seeking change and asserted that the APC would find it challenging to win a free and fair election in the state.
