APC political shifts: Goje reaffirms loyalty as Bindow rejoins party

Prominent political figures in Nigeria are clarifying their positions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Danjuma Goje, the former governor of Gombe State and current senator representing Gombe Central, has dismissed rumors regarding his defection from the party. Goje reaffirmed his loyalty as a founding member of the APC, stating that it would be inappropriate to switch parties simply to contest for the senate. He urged his supporters to remain cooperative with party leadership.

In a separate development, former Adamawa State Governor Jibrilla Bindow has officially rejoined the APC. Bindow, who resigned from the party in January 2023, re-registered at his ward in Mubi following consultations with political associates. He noted that his return follows meetings with President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, expressing his intention to help strengthen the party for the upcoming 2027 elections.
