APC wins all chairmanship and councillorship seats in Enugu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) won all 17 chairmanship and 260 councillorship seats in the Enugu State local government elections held on Saturday. The results were announced by Prof. Christian Ngwu, Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), who described the process as free, fair, and conducted according to established rules.
In specific areas, candidates secured significant margins. In Igbo-Eze South, Chief Ugochukwu Ukwueze received all 51,033 votes cast, while Dr. Chris Onyebuchi secured all 137,751 votes in Igbo-Eze North. In Enugu South, Chief Caleb Ani won with 71,335 votes against his closest rival.
The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) commended the election, describing the atmosphere as peaceful and credible. The CRPP acknowledged the efforts of ENSIEC, security agencies, and Governor Peter Mbah in ensuring a level playing field and a conducive environment for voters to exercise their franchise without intimidation.
