Apeldoorn to host 2026 UCI Para cycling Track World Championships

The 2026 UCI Para cycling Track World Championships will take place at the Omnisport velodrome in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, from October 29 to November 1, 2026. The event is expected to be the largest edition to date, featuring over 300 para-athletes representing 46 countries.

The championships serve as a critical midpoint in the four-year Paralympic cycle leading toward the LA28 Games. The competition will feature significant changes to the racing programme, including the removal of the Individual Pursuit from all C-class events and shifts in tandem racing formats.

Organizers aim to use the event to promote inclusion and equal opportunities in sports through the #RaceYourDreams campaign. Notable participants include Dutch multi-gold medalist Tristan Bangma and New Zealand's Emma Foy, who will compete alongside pilot Jessie Hodges.
