Apex Legends crashes reported on Radeon RX 9070 XT systems
Players using the Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card are experiencing crashes while playing Apex Legends, particularly when using AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1. The issues often manifest as black screens or DXGI device-hung errors, frequently occurring once shader compilation is complete.
Respawn Entertainment has acknowledged the problem and is investigating the cause. As a temporary workaround, it is recommended that affected users roll back their graphics drivers to Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1. Some players have also found success by modifying Steam launch options to disable certain bindless rendering functions. While the crashes are specifically linked to the RX 9070 XT and the latest driver version, the exact cause—whether a driver defect or a game-side compatibility issue—has not yet been definitively established.
