Apex Partners reports R$ 1 billion in financial inconsistencies
Apex Partners has reported identifying approximately R$ 1 billion in “financial inconsistencies” following the removal of two executives in early August.
Filipe Pires Cerqueira Caldas, the founder of Carbyne Investimentos, is identified as a key executive of the Apex Partners fund. Caldas serves as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Carbyne, managing funds related to Apex. Carbyne Investimentos previously had its Mercados Privados fund accounts and financial statements rejected during a general assembly of shareholders earlier this year.
Caldas is also noted as a signatory in the agreement between Apex and the travel operator CVC, a deal that granted stakeholders in Espírito Santo approximately 15% of the company. Caldas holds positions in both Carbyne and the investment platform, with both entities acting in concert within CVC.
