APGA defends Governor Soludo’s support for President Tinubu
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has defended Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo following his participation in President Bola Tinubu’s campaign activities. APGA National Chairman Sly Ezeokenwa stated that the Governor’s backing of Tinubu is a strategic move to advance regional economic and political priorities rather than an act of party disloyalty.
Ezeokenwa argued that Soludo aims to work with the Federal Government to attract development to Anambra State and the wider South-East region, ensuring that Igbo interests are not sidelined in national decision-making. He emphasized that APGA remains an independent party but will cooperate with the Federal Government when it benefits citizens.
In a separate statement, the APGA Media Warriors dismissed former National Chairman Chief Chekwas Okorie, who had criticized Soludo for supporting Tinubu’s second-term ambitions. Party representatives characterized Okorie’s comments as attempts to seek cheap popularity and noted that his previous removal from leadership stripped him of the moral authority to question the Governor’s political choices.
