Apical hosts nutrition competition to prevent stunting in East Kalimantan

Apical, through its operating unit PT Kutai Refinery Nusantara (KRN), organized a nutritious menu creation competition in Kariangau Village, West Balikpapan District, East Kalimantan. The initiative aimed to prevent stunting in children under five by teaching participants how to prepare healthy, protein-rich meals using simple and affordable ingredients.

Collaborating with the Kariangau Community Health Centre, local family welfare teams, and health volunteers, the event involved 58 participants, including mothers and community volunteers. Before the competition, a clinical nutrition specialist from Beriman Hospital provided a briefing on balanced nutrition and supplementary feeding menus.

The program focused on demonstrating that nutritious meals can be easily replicated at home using readily available ingredients to support the healthy growth and development of toddlers.
