APJAC Amaravati warns of agitation over pending employee dues

The APJAC Amaravati has warned the state government of potential fresh agitations starting after August 15 if long-standing financial and service issues regarding government employees are not addressed. Leaders Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and Palisetti Damodara Rao stated that employees are seeking the implementation of assurances made in the coalition's election manifesto rather than new concessions.

Key demands include the immediate appointment of a Pay Revision Commission chairman, the announcement of interim relief, the release of five pending Dearness Allowances (DA), and the settlement of arrears. Additionally, the group is seeking a review of the CPS/GPS, the restoration of additional pension benefits, and resolutions for contract and outsourcing staff.

Members criticized a recent state financial white paper, alleging it misrepresents the fiscal impact of employees. Citing CAG figures, they noted that salaries and pensions account for 37.41% of total revenue expenditure. They also highlighted that significant funds paid since 2024 consist of employees' own savings, such as GPF and medical reimbursements, while many retirees still await gratuity.
