APN approves nearly 37 million euros for first-home tax refunds

The Agency for Legal Transactions and Real Estate Brokerage (APN) has approved nearly 37 million euros in tax refunds for citizens purchasing or building their first residential property. To date, the agency has received 7,479 applications, with 4,881 requests approved.

The financial aid, aimed at assisting younger citizens and families with housing, includes 26.2 million euros in VAT refunds and 10.7 million euros in real estate transfer tax refunds. The average support per household is approximately 7,574 euros.

Data shows that the highest number of approved requests came from Zagreb, with 1,988 approvals, while the lowest number was from Lika-Senj County, with 27. The average age of applicants is 32, with ages ranging from 18 to 44. The average property size for these approved applications is 72 square meters.
