Series of thefts and vandalism incidents across German towns

A wave of thefts and vandalism has been reported in several German locations. Three cable drums valued at about €5,000 were stolen from a construction site near Bad Sulza, and police are seeking witnesses. In Neckarelz, a 15‑year‑old was caught after stepping onto the tracks, prompting a rapid brake and an investigation for dangerous interference with rail traffic. At Georgensgmünd, stones were thrown onto a DB auto‑train, shattering the windows of 13 cars and leading to a police inquiry. Near Schwetzingen, two cement bags were placed on railway tracks, causing a high‑speed night train to pass without braking, and the line was temporarily closed. In Regensburg, a specialised rail‑grinding machine was stolen from a railway site, with damages estimated at €18,000. Additional burglary reports include multiple break‑ins in Kassel and Fuldabrück where thieves stole cash, jewellery, a e‑bike and other goods, and a car‑theft ring was intercepted near Leipzig, resulting in several arrests. Police across the affected states have issued calls for information and are pursuing investigations into these crimes.
