Apollo Global Management confirms minority stake in Mubadala Capital

Apollo Global Management has confirmed it will take a minority equity stake in Mubadala Capital, the Abu Dhabi-backed alternative asset manager. While media reports previously suggested the stake would be nearly 10%, neither Apollo nor Mubadala Capital has officially disclosed the specific size of the holding or the purchase price.

Apollo joins the founders of Silver Rock Financial as an equity holder, while Mubadala Investment Company remains the majority shareholder. Apollo is among several new minority investors expected to commit an aggregate $5 billion to Mubadala Capital’s investment strategies at the initial close. The transaction is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory and legal approvals.

The deal deepens a long-standing relationship between the two firms, which includes a multibillion-dollar partnership established in 2022 and extended in 2024. In 2023, the entities formed a $2.5 billion joint venture focused on global private credit co-investments.
