Apollo Global Management negotiates $3 billion financing for New York Yankees
Apollo Global Management is in advanced talks to provide a $3 billion financing package for the New York Yankees franchise and its YES Network. The deal would combine debt and equity to refinance existing debt, support expansion projects and shore up the regional sports network’s liquidity amid industry‑wide cord‑cutting pressures. The Yankees, whose valuation exceeds $9 billion, are seeking the capital while remaining within Major League Baseball rules that limit private‑equity ownership stakes.
In parallel, Apollo is also exploring credit arrangements for European low‑cost carrier easyJet, reflecting its broader strategy of investing in high‑cash‑flow assets such as sports media and transportation. Completion of the financing would give the Yankees additional runway for roster and infrastructure spending and further embed Apollo in U.S. sports and global travel sectors.
