Apollo launches €10bn European Credit Company platform
Apollo Global Management has launched the European Credit Company (ECC), a new platform dedicated to performing corporate and asset-backed lending across Europe. The entity begins with more than €10 billion in committed lending capacity, targeting both large-cap and mid-market opportunities.
The platform aims to address financing needs driven by Europe’s industrial renaissance, including sectors such as energy transition, defense, digital infrastructure, and real estate. ECC will utilize proprietary origination alongside strategic partnerships with European financial institutions.
ECC is backed by a group of long-term institutional investors, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), insurer Athora, Norinchukin Bank, Standard Chartered, and Aranda Principal Strategies. The company is led by Chief Executive Officer Giacomo Petrobelli and Chairman Christian Meissner.
Headquartered with offices in Frankfurt, Jersey, London, Luxembourg, and Milan, the platform intends to mobilize global capital to support Europe’s long-term growth agenda.
