Apollon Kalamarias hosts Efsi Sideropoulou basketball tournament

Apollon Kalamarias recently hosted the ‘Efsi Sideropoulou’ basketball tournament, an event revived after several years to honor the memory of Efsi Sideropoulou and her family. The tournament coincided with the club's 100th anniversary celebrations.

Coach Thodoris Polymenes stated that the event served two primary purposes: paying tribute to a former member and providing a competitive test for the women's team. He noted that the tournament allowed former players from across Greece to reunite and helped the current roster connect with the club's deep historical legacy.

From a competitive standpoint, the tournament acted as a preparation phase for the team ahead of the Women’s Basketball League 2 season starting in early October. Polymenes emphasized that while the team is young and still working on cohesion, the players demonstrated significant fighting spirit and pressure during the matches.
