Omonoia and Apollon Limassol draw 0-0 in Cypriot derby

Omonoia and Apollon Limassol played to a 0-0 draw in a high-stakes Cypriot derby. Despite Omonoia controlling much of the match and creating more opportunities, particularly in the second half, they were unable to convert their dominance into goals.

Omonoia manager Henning Berg expressed satisfaction with his team's defensive performance and overall dominance but noted a critical need for improvement in the attacking third. He also expressed confusion regarding his red card, which was issued after he questioned the referee about stoppage time.

Apollon Limassol entered the match with a mixed roster, seeing the return of Brandon Thomas and Gaetan Weissbek, while missing key midfielders Ljubicic and Brown, as well as Angelos Andreou. Apollon spokesperson Fanourios Konstantinou described the matchup as a contest between two quality sides.

Omonoia now shifts its focus to European competition, preparing to host Celta Vigo in the Europa League League Phase.
