Apollon Smyrnis hosts Euro Cup water polo qualifying round

Apollon Smyrnis is set to host the Group B qualifying round of the men's Euro Cup water polo tournament at the Serafio Swimming Center from October 8 to October 11. The Greek team aims to secure one of the top three positions in their five-team group to advance to the group stage.

The schedule for Apollon Smyrnis includes matches against Duisburg (Germany) on Thursday, Partizan Belgrade (Serbia) on Friday, Savona (Italy) on Saturday, and Sintez Kazan (Russia) on Sunday. Coach Teo Laurento emphasized the importance of the tournament, noting the team's desire to reach the group stage after failing to do so last year.

In a separate qualifying group, Vouliagmeni will compete in Group D in Naples, Italy, from October 9 to 11, facing Posillipo, Barcelona (Spain), and Dinamo București (Romania) for one of two advancement spots.
