Appasia Capital sues KLFA officials as Razorpay launches AI payment model

Appasia Capital has filed a civil lawsuit against eight Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) office bearers, seeking RM1,044,283.35. The claim stems from an alleged unsecured RM1 million loan provided in 2022 to cover player salaries. While KLFA has reportedly paid back RM406,000 as of January 2025, Appasia is seeking the remaining balance plus interest. Current KLFA officials have applied to strike out the suit, arguing the debt predates their tenure and that legal proceedings should instead target former officials who signed personal bonds or guarantees.

In the fintech sector, Razorpay has launched Vulcan, an AI foundation model designed to optimize payment networks. Developed using NVIDIA GPUs and Amazon Web Services, the model was trained on approximately three trillion data points. Vulcan aims to reduce failed transactions, enhance fraud detection, and personalize checkouts by analyzing 3,000 signals per transaction. Early implementation has reportedly improved payment success rates by 8% to 10% and increased the detection of international card fraud by eight times.
