Appellate Court of Montenegro denies request to accelerate Peruničić and Pavićević case
The Appellate Court of Montenegro has announced that the case involving Dejan Peruničić and Srđan Pavićević is not currently before the court. This statement follows a request submitted by the legal representative of the victims on September 23, seeking to accelerate the proceedings.
Upon reviewing the judicial information system and court registers, the court determined that the files from the High Court in Podgorica (case reference Ks. br. 17/21) regarding appeals against the aforementioned judgment are not held by the Appellate Court.
Under the Law on the Protection of the Right to a Trial within a Reasonable Time, a control request must be submitted to the specific court where the case is currently being processed. Consequently, the acting president of the Appellate Court rejected the request for acceleration as unfounded, as the case files are not within their jurisdiction.
