Appennino Piemontese to showcase agrobiodiversity at Terra Madre

The Appennino Piemontese Protected Areas Management Authority (APAP) will participate in the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2026 in Turin. The event, themed ‘Biodiversity – Be Diversity’, focuses on the intersection of viticulture and biodiversity conservation.

A scheduled meeting titled ‘Good, clean and protected. The agrobiodiversity of Piedmontese Protected Areas on the table’ will highlight food production and biodiversity protection projects within Piedmontese protected areas. The session includes representatives from the Marittime and Cozie Alps, as well as the Gesso and Stura River Park.

The presentation will feature a project aimed at promoting biodiversity in the vineyards of Costa Merlassino, located within the Strette della Val Borbera Special Area of Conservation. This area is part of the UNESCO-recognized Piedmontese vineyard landscapes, including Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. The event will also include a tasting of Timorasso, a white wine characteristic of the Colli Tortonesi region.
