APPEX 2027 to showcase AI and robotics in packaging

The APPEX 2027 exhibition, presented by the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA), will focus on the integration of artificial intelligence, machine vision, robotics, and intelligent automation within the processing and packaging industries.

APPMA CEO Michael Moran noted that the rapid pace of technological development means the solutions available in 2027 will differ significantly from those presented at the 2024 event. The industry is currently shifting from discussing future possibilities to implementing practical AI and robotic solutions in current manufacturing operations.

Exhibitors such as ABB Robotics are expected to demonstrate advanced technologies, including AI-enabled vision systems connected to mobile and stationary robots. These advancements aim to improve recognition, inspection accuracy, operational safety, and quality assurance.
