APPI reports Rp14.8 billion in unpaid player wages across 28 Indonesian clubs

The Indonesian Professional Footballers Association (APPI) has revealed that 28 football clubs, spanning from Liga 1 to Liga 4, have failed to pay player wages totaling approximately Rp14.8 billion. The issue affects 303 players, involving both reported cases and outstanding decisions from the National Dispute Resolution Chamber (NDRC) that have yet to be implemented.

APPI Legal representative Mohammad Agus Riza Hufaida identified several clubs with outstanding debts, including PSM Makassar, Semen Padang, PSMS Medan, Persiku Kudus, PSIS Semarang, RANS FC, Sriwijaya FC, and Persikota Tangerang, among many others.

Hufaida emphasized the importance of resolving these issues immediately, noting that player rights must be respected. He suggested that clubs with unresolved wage issues should be prohibited from participating in competitions as a form of strict sanction and advocated for a ‘zero tolerance’ policy regarding club licensing to prevent future occurrences.
