Appietus accuses Ofori Amponsah of withholding Netflix deal proceeds
Music producer Appietus has accused highlife musician Ofori Amponsah of failing to distribute proceeds from a reported Netflix film deal to the artists involved in the project. The dispute concerns the UK film ‘The Kitchen’, which reportedly featured portions of the song ‘Odo Nwom’.
Appietus alleged that while he was originally entitled to 50 per cent of the proceeds, he accepted a different arrangement based on Ofori Amponsah’s assurance that funds would be shared with other contributors, including Kofi Nti and Barosky. Appietus claims these promised payments were never made, leading to a breakdown in his relationship with Amponsah.
The allegations follow public concern regarding musician Barosky, who has reportedly been living on the streets in the United Kingdom and has expressed a desire to return to Ghana. Appietus stated he is exploring ways to assist Barosky’s return and urged the public to support the musician rather than judge him for his current circumstances.
