Apple adds AirPods equalizer via iOS 27; EarFun releases Wave Pro X

Apple has introduced a new equalizer feature for AirPods via the iOS 27 update. This functionality allows users to manually adjust low, mid, and high frequencies to customize their audio experience. The feature is compatible with devices utilizing Apple’s H2 chip, including AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4, AirPods 5, and AirPods Max 2. Once configured, the settings apply across all music applications and sync to other connected Apple devices like iPads and Macs.

In the budget audio market, EarFun has released the Wave Pro X headphones. Priced at approximately $130, the model is noted for its high price-to-performance ratio, featuring Qualcomm aptX codec support, long battery life, and a highly customizable EQ. While its active noise cancellation (ANC) is described as average compared to premium competitors, the device is highlighted for its comfort and sound quality.
