Apple advises iPhone users on WhatsApp media storage and theft protection

Apple's support guidance now includes steps to stop WhatsApp automatically saving photos and videos to the iPhone’s photo library. Users can open WhatsApp, go to Settings → Chats and turn off "Save to Camera Roll". Exceptions can be set for selected contacts so their media still saves automatically.

The same guidance expands advice for a stolen iPhone. Apple recommends activating Lost Mode, avoiding the display of contact information on the lock screen, and keeping the device linked to Find My. Users should also remove the iPhone from trusted devices, file an AppleCare+ claim if covered, and be aware that security features such as biometric prompts for account‑password changes only work for a limited time after a theft.
