Apple and Asus announce new high-performance chip technologies
Apple has introduced the A20 Pro, a new system on a chip (SoC) designed for demanding mobile computing. The A20 Pro is noted as the first 2-nanometer processor for smartphones, integrating processor cores, a graphics processor, a Neural Engine, Neural Accelerators, and a memory subsystem into a single package to achieve higher transistor density and improved energy efficiency.
In the desktop segment, Asus has announced the Ascend QN10, a compact 0.7-liter mini PC utilizing the Arm architecture. The device features the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, which includes 18 cores (12 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores) and an integrated Adreno GPU. The system also includes a Hexagon NPU with 80 TOPS of performance and supports LPDDR5X memory and NVMe SSD storage.
