Apple and Dell advance laptop competition with new hardware

Apple is preparing a new generation of the MacBook Neo, which is expected to feature the A19 Pro chip and an upgrade to 12GB of RAM. The transition to the A19 Pro chip, which is expected to power the iPhone 17 Pro, could provide a 10 to 15 percent increase in CPU performance and significant improvements in graphics. The increased memory capacity is intended to enhance multitasking and support more demanding applications, particularly in graphics and video work. Additionally, the new hardware will include a Neural Accelerator on each GPU core to improve on-device AI capabilities, such as voice assistants and dictation.

In response to the market impact of the MacBook Neo, Dell has introduced the XPS 14s at the IFA trade show. Aimed primarily at students, the Dell XPS 14s features an aluminum body available in four colors: beige, pink, blue, and green. The device offers various configurations, starting with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with upgrades available up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. It is powered by Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350 processors and includes a 14-inch LCD panel with options for different resolutions and refresh rates.
