Apple to release iOS 27 and macOS 27 on September 14

Apple has announced the release of its latest operating systems, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 (codenamed ‘Golden Gate’), scheduled for deployment on September 14, 2026.

A central feature of this update is the introduction of Siri AI. This new iteration of the virtual assistant leverages artificial intelligence, including collaboration with Google’s Gemini, to provide more natural conversations, contextual awareness, and the ability to interact with on-screen content. Due to hardware requirements for Apple Intelligence, advanced Siri AI features will be limited to iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max models and iPhone 16 series or later.

macOS 27 ‘Golden Gate’ introduces design refinements, improved window organization, and performance optimizations for Apple Silicon Macs. For iOS 27, updates include the ‘Liquid Glass’ design language, enhanced photo editing tools, and expanded parental controls through improved child accounts and Screen Time settings.

While the software update is broadly compatible with older devices, such as the iPhone 11, certain high-end AI functionalities require specific hardware. Additionally, some features like Siri AI and Apple Pay may face limitations when the operating system is installed on external storage volumes.
