Apple appoints Nate Gatten as Vice President of Government Affairs

Apple Inc. has appointed Nate Gatten as its new Vice President of Government Affairs, effective August 31. Gatten joins the technology company from American Airlines, where he served as Chief Government Affairs Officer for six years. He also previously held leadership roles at Fannie Mae and JPMorgan Chase.

Gatten will report to Apple’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Jennifer Newstead. His role involves managing global government relations and ensuring cooperation with the U.S. Congress. He succeeds Kate Adams, who will transition into an advisory role until October 1.

The appointment is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen Apple’s political ties. Gatten, who has a history of supporting Republican causes, is expected to facilitate both bipartisan cooperation in Congress and potential synergies with the incoming administration.
