Apple iPhone Duo pre-orders face massive delays

Apple has officially launched pre-orders for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, which features a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED screen. The device is powered by the A20 Pro chip and runs on iOS 27.

Pre-orders opened on October 16, but massive demand has led to significant shipping delays. While the official commercial release is set for October 23, many customers in markets including the US, UAE, and Europe are seeing estimated delivery dates pushed as far back as January 2027.

In addition to hardware interest, the launch has faced technical and security challenges. Reports from Hong Kong indicate disputes over duplicate credit card charges and potential security vulnerabilities due to the lack of mandatory 3DS verification on Apple’s website. Furthermore, some official accessories, such as the Folio case, have been noted to require adhesive strips for a secure fit.

Apple is also expected to expand its product lineup in late October and early November with new MacBook Pro models featuring OLED touchscreens and new iPad mini versions.
