Apple showcases iPhone Duo camera capabilities and iPhone 18 Pro sales growth
Apple is showcasing the photographic capabilities of its new iPhone Duo, a foldable device featuring dual 48-megapixel cameras. To demonstrate its potential, Apple released professional samples captured by photographers Jake Michaels and Jason Nocito. The device utilizes a 48MP Fusion main sensor and a 48MP ultra-wide lens, providing a 2x optical-quality crop in place of a dedicated telephoto lens. Its foldable design allows for unique low-angle and high-angle shots without the need for a tripod.
In the Chinese market, the iPhone 18 Pro has seen a strong start, with sales increasing by 12% during its first three days compared to the previous year. This performance helped Apple secure a 33% market share in China during week 38. Analysts from Counterpoint Research suggest this growth is partly due to a strategic staggered release of Pro models and rising costs for competing domestic brands, which has narrowed the price gap between Apple's flagships and local competitors.
